My wife and I originally purchased a heritage listed Queen Anne Villa, built in 1900, and largely untouched for 100 years. Like many homes from that generation it had excellent bones, however required a lot of work to bring it into the 21st century to accommodate our large family. To keep the heritage trust happy, be sensitive to the building, and extend it in a manner that would give us our ‘forever house’, we required someone with the same passion and attention to detail as us to undertake the project. Peter Spajic of Olde Worlde Homes was without doubt was the right man for the job.
Most building companies will supply a project manager whom will promise the world, tell you that you can have what you want, and then deliver their vision and not yours. A large reason for this is they have no personal building experience and accordingly cannot possibly deliver what they promise. With an extensive resume of previous work he has personally completed with his own hands, what you see is what you get with Peter. If he says it will happen, it will. If it can be done, take it as done. He will listen to you, take on board your ideas and make your vision come to life, with the care and attention to detail as if the project were his own personal residence. You will be lead through the build step by step, kept up to date with the what is happening, and ensure that you continue to feel that you not only own your house, but also the process. This personal approach is not limited to small projects of simple aspirations. Ours was a multi-million dollar project of extreme complexity; if Peter can deliver our vision as he has, he can deliver yours as well.

My wife Bronwyn and I have recently completed the build of our new home with Peter Spajic from Olde Worlde Homes in May 2014. The build was complex and required negotiations with the Council as the house was built in a pre-established suburb and involved the demolition and re-development of a previous dwelling.
Right from the start, Peter was professional, courteous and always true to his word in all discussions and negotiations. Building a house can be a stressful time; however Peter did everything possible to ensure that all issues as they arose were quickly and professionally resolved. One of the initial observations we made when we met Peter was his genuine focus on customer satisfaction and his upfront disclosure to all the inclusions and exclusions with the build. This made the initial negotiations much easier as there were no hidden details in anything he presented and this immediately instilled a level of confidence and trust.
Throughout the build, there is one aspect that made us very glad that we chose Olde Worlde Homes. Peter personally supervises all of the houses that Olde Worlde Homes builds or renovates and they are not given to another supervisor to manage. This means that Peter personally supervises the project and this makes a tremendous difference to the progress and the quality of the workmanship that is applied. Further, Peter only utilises tradesman that he has previous experience with, or are tradesman that have a proven high quality reputation in South Australia. The resulting product is one that is excellent in every detail.
Finally, Olde Worlde Homes encourages feedback and communication throughout the build rather than delivering a product that you cannot see until the end. This means that you can be involved as much or as little in the house being built and that you have personal access to Peter to discuss the project any time day or night.
We are extremely pleased with our new house and we are very glad that we chose Olde Worlde Homes.

We always felt that you were building the home as if it were your own.

We had a wonderful building experience with Peter. We started building during a very busy time of our lives when our first child was born, and Peter made the process as organised and stress-free as possible. We kept the facade of a very run down 1890s cottage, and built a heritage style home with all the modern conveniences. Peter guided us through the process of restoring the front wall of the cottage, and we were amazed at how the house looked when it was finished. It was better than we ever could have imagined, and we were thrilled that we had been able to incorporate the pretty facade into the new house.
The workmanship is of the highest quality, and this was commented upon numerous times during the building process. Peter worked with our ideas, and gave great advice, to produce a home we love. We have no hesitation in recommending Peter, and we hope to have the opportunity to build with him again one day.
